The weather could not have been better for racing at Mission Raceway. The track prep allowed for some fast runs from the Hot Rod Racers. Saturday had a turn out of 16 racers.
In round 1, Bill Clifford got a single run when Scott Winterbottom broke his newly acquired Chevy II in time trials. Mark (Bog) Boutillier and Jerry Byfield both red lit but the win went to Jerry Byfield. Bill Jamieson red lit giving the win to Lorne Dufour. Greg Wright red lit giving the win to Roger Winter. Dave Leib took out Bill Halicki with a .384 light and a 10.08 run on a 10.01 dial in. Silvia Hoogstins and Terry Charles both red lit but the win went to Terry Charles. Randy Hermsen took out George Criddle with a .042 light and a 13.69 run on a 13.61 dial in. Larry Rhodenizer took out Dave Wren with a .006 light and a 9.55 run on a 9.52 dial in.
In round 2, both Jerry Byfield and Randy Hermsen ran under their dial ins but the win went to Jerry who had a .003 light and a 11.43 run on a 11.45 dial in. Terry Charles red lit giving the win to Roger Winter. Dave Leib and Larry Rhodenizer both red lit but the win went to Larry Rhodenizer. Bill Clifford red lit giving the win to Lorne Dufour.
Round 3, Larry Rhodenizer took out Roger Winter with a .042 light and a 9.59 run on a 9.53 dial in. Jerry Byfield red lit giving the win to Lorne Dufour.
In the finals, Lorne Dufour had mechanical issues that gave the win to Larry Rhodenizer. Congratulations Larry!!
Another beautiful day on Sunday. 16 Hot Rod Racers were ready for another great day of racing. Kevin McNabb suffered mechanical issues but had his car ready to go for eliminations.
Unfortunately round 1 information is missing so we will go right into round 2. Terry Charles red lit giving the win to Roger Winter. Greg Wright red lit giving the win to Silvia Hoogstins. Bill Halicki red lit giving the win to Bill Clifford. Dave Leib red lit giving the win to Kevin McNabb.
In round 3, Silvia Hoogstins and Roger Winter both ran under their dial ins but the win went to Silva who had a .073 light and ran a 13.01 on a 13.05 dial in. Kevin McNabb took out Bill Clifford with a .040 light and a 8.99 run on a 8.99 dial in.
In the finals, Kevin McNabb took out Silvia Hoogstins who ran under her dial in. Kevin had a .014 light and ran an 9.01 on a 8.99 dial in. Congratulations Kevin!!
The next race for the Hot Rod Racers is another double-header on May 28th and 29th. Racers, don’t forget to include your up to date NHRA membership number when completing your tech cards.
